BookMountain was formed to provide a
place for writers and other artists to meet and work in the spectacular
natural beauty of the Okanogan and still have access to state-of-the-art
publishing facilities and promotional opportunities. We are connected with
a full line of publishing resources including electronic, print-on-demand
and short-run printers, editors and book-designers (most of them local)
and wide-ranging Internet and conventional promotion. We can publish your
work or help you publish it yourself or connect you with agents and
publishers around the world.
Our accommodations include a wide-range of
possibilities. BookMountain is not a single resort or retreat center but
a cooperative effort involving local artists, ranchers and businesses. We
have tipis, tents, cabins and camping places. We also have rental homes,
pioneer homesteads and farmhouses. We offer catered meals of many kinds
based on local foods. If you would like to make your stay permanent and
join our community, land is available in many sizes of parcels and prices
are low.
We offer Western Adventures including trail rides,
stage-coach tours and wagon-train excursions. There is never a lack of
something interesting to do including local rodeos and celebrations,
Native American events and endless wilderness to explore.
